CUSTOMER CASE
SAFETY AND QUALITY ARE TOP PRIORITIES FOR STRÖMAN MASKIN
JP takes us through the customer reception area and leads us to the machine hall. They are currently working on a large street sweeper truck and JP tells us more about how Ströman does business. He describes how the specialist competence of the company lies in that Ströman builds their street sweepers from scratch and refines them. They offer products from well-known brands such as Bucher, Meiren and Epoke. Ströman usually works with chassis from Volvo or Scania and JP says that they spend up to 400 hours on each machine built. He explains that their strength is well-educated personnel with deep technical knowledge who knows how to customize the machines.
When we discuss visibility and the importance to be seen, JP means that the customers request rear-view TV systems and warning lights. Many of the machines are equipped with safety features in the factory, but this is oftentimes not enough and the products do not always comply with the quality standard requested by both Ströman and the customer.
The importance of high product quality is something that JP holds as top priority when he selects lights. JP wants a wide light pattern and a lamp with low power consumption for his work lights. The compact street sweepers have a limited electric system and it is a plus to equip them with work lights and warning lights that are low-power. A new product from HBA is a combined warning light and work lights. We show it to JP and he responds that they normally struggle with limited space on their machines. Hence a combination light would be a smart solution especially at the rear of the machine. The combination light has a long and wide work light pattern and low power consumption. If the warning light is connected to the reverse gear trigger cable it can also be used as an efficient automatic reverse alarm.
We are very fond of DT-cables and DT-connectors and JP agrees with our reasoning regarding the improved simplicity. DT-cables with ADR quality are smooth and flexible, which results in a quicker installation compared to using a standard cable. An ADR cable is also much more resilient. JP confirms that when a light has a DT-connector it improves the installation process and facilitates future service work.
It is almost time for Strömans machines to hit the Swedish streets and they have to be in mint condition when they do so. Ströman is ultimately in charge of keeping our streets and pathways clean. We are lucky to know that JP and his colleagues take their task seriously and nothing is left to chance when it comes to our safety.
